As I believe I stated before, English is neither the stronger nor weakest subject I had struggled. Although, I am surprised that this assignment had ended up as a "successful assignment". This is the third essay I had wrote in my English class, and this essay focuses on Literacy Analysis from the novel of Jimmy Santiago Baca's, A Place to Stand. In this assignment, I focused in analyzing chapter 5, where there was a plot change. Back in my high school English classes, I was assigned to do many literacy analysis on many readings. Doing this exercise like almost everyday in high school had prepared me for college assignments. I remembered back in high school, I'd always hate working in those assignments. My teachers would want me to critically think beyond than the required points. But, I never knew that I'd still have to face those assignments in college as well. Thankfully, in this assignment, it had prepared me to write a strong literacy analysis essay. I'm thankful for going to a high school that prepared me for assignments I may not like, but eventually assignments you hate may haunt you in the future. As I received back my essay, I got a B- as this is the highest grade in essay history so far for English 100. I know math is my favorite subject, but sadly, I didn't do my best performance within one of my test. The test was about logarithms and exponents, I was mastering these topics back in high school. I went to the TLC where my friend works as a math tutor. I used my lunch and after math class to go get help on math. I stopped going to my math professor's office hour since it was hard to wake up extra early to catch buses just to make it on his specific office hours. I thought just going to tutoring would be enough to master the topics. When I took the test, it seems harder than what I'd expect, and with my fixed mindset, I knew I was not going to pass that test. Therefore, the outcome, I didn't pass my math test, and I had a lot of worksheets assigned for me, it was certainly not fun at all. It's almost the mark of sixteen weeks, and I hope I can do anything to spare my grades. I had struggled a lot in balancing time with in campus and online schooling. Even though online work are normally due every Sunday, but I'd always catch up to myself feeling like I pushed everything in the last minute. Once this semester is over, it'll all be worth it, because it's one less class to worry about with General Education classes.
