"Foundational theories and concepts relevant to the systematic study of social behavior. Includes an overview of the different theoretical paradigms; an examination of how the social structure shapes individual’s daily interactions; an evaluation of how societies construct cultural meanings, maintain social control, and establish systems of stratification based on social categories such as race, class and gender; an exploration of the role of institutions such as families, schools, courts, social media, and labor markets (domestic and international) in shaping and regulating our daily lives."
